Macomb Academy is a charter school serving 18- to 26-year-old students who received special education services in high school, and who received a certificate of completion rather than a high school diploma. Our program helps to develop and enhance confidence, self-advocacy and overall independence by focusing on daily living skills and employment skills. We strive to challenge each student and to provide students with new experiences for growth and learning.
Daily living skills classes support and instruct students in the development of skills needed to independently care for oneself at home and in the community. Community-based job training is designed to enable students to gain practical work experiences in the realistic setting of local businesses who have partnered with Macomb Academy. Through it all, students are provided a professional yet nurturing environment in which to learn and grow.
